“Eriv Student at Vale College (Supported Internship Course)
Placement since December 2024
I was quite nervous about my placement at the Weeecharity. Lisa came to
meet me at College. She explained what the volunteers did and explained
that I would be made to feel welcome and of course I would get the
chance to meet Bailey. I am so surprised at how well I have settled and
how friendly the staff are. I adore Bailey the Weeecharity dog. I
bought him a toy and some treats. Plus I bought the staff some
biscuits. I really enjoy the work and have lot's of fun with the other
students. Both from Vale and Wigan. My family are really proud of me.
I really look forward to returning in the new year. Plus I am due to
collect a puppy (border collie) just like Bailey at Christmas. I can't
wait to get back and bring in my own puppy to see Lisa and the staff.
Thankyou Weeecharity.”

“Alex Student at Vale College (Supported Internship Course)
Placement since November 2024

I really enjoy my time at WEEE. I have gained so much confidence and
met some great friends. I really enjoy being with my fellow students.
I am not afraid to ask questions and really enjoy working with the
staff. I like the daily challenge of taking apart computers. My family
have noticed how keen I am to attend on my volunteering days. Thankyou
so much to all the staff for your continued support.

“My name is Leah I'm a student at Warrington Vale and Royal College on the supported internship course. I've been on placement at Weeecharity since September 2024.

I'm enjoying the placement as the people here are easy to get along with and are kind to me and make me feel welcome.

I also enjoy working with my hands and taking apart the computers and other electrical equipment.

I found myself becoming more confident before I came on placements. I struggled to even order at a restaurant, go to places on my own or talk to other people now I go and get my lunch on my own and enjoy talking to people at Weeecharity.

My dad has also seen changes in me since I started placement when I was out shopping with him and my sister a stranger came up to me and asked me a question and I was able to engage in conversation with them my dad was surprised and said that ever since I started placement.  I've been more outgoing and willing to chat to people.”
