Items We Can’t Accept (sorry!)

We love many things, but not these. It’s a safety, logistics, or regulation thing.

  • White goods / household electricals: fridges, freezers, cookers, washing machines

  • Garden electricals (mowers, strimmers, etc.)

  • Light sources: fluorescent tubes & light bulbs

  • Items containing gases (refrigerants, pressurised canisters)

  • Inkjet printers by post (collections are fine—just not posted, they break hearts)

  • Non-electrical items (general bric-a-brac)

  • Used ink or toner cartridges (we can take unused toners only)

  • Polystyrene

  • Whiteboards, smart boards, interactive boards

  • Hygiene products

  • Mattresses (or “mattersses”—we admire the creativity, still a no)

  • AA/AAA type household batteries (please use local battery recycling points)

  • Toothbrushes or shavers

  • E-cigarettes / vapes

Why it Matters

Donated tech gets a second life through reuse (supporting our community projects). What can’t be reused is recycled responsibly—recovering materials, cutting carbon, and keeping toxins out of landfill. That’s good news for the planet and people.
